ADHD Coaching / Academic Coaching

Studies
Dionysios offers academic coaching to students with ADHD, who may also have autism, dyslexia or dyspraxia, at all levels of higher education—undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral.

This support helps students to develop specialised skills and strategies tailored to them and their educational context, such as honing executive function skills, setting realistic goals, managing time effectively, improving their research and writing, building confidence and mastering self-advocacy.

As the challenges specific learning differences pose on students are not only limited to study skills, academic coaching takes a holistic approach by addressing the entirety of a student’s life, from managing social interactions and building healthy relationships, to navigating everyday tasks like maintaining a clean and productive living space.

Academic coaching also encompasses developing practical advice on balancing part-time work with studies, and instilling habits for effective self-care, such as healthy eating, exercise and sleep routines. Additionally, it includes support on financial planning and budgeting, and preparing for life post-graduation with planning for future career paths.

Coaching approach
At the core of Dionysios’ coaching philosophy is a deeply rooted belief in the transformative power of individualised support. A dedicated listener, Dionysios aims to help clients go deeper and uncover patterns and habits that might impede their growth. Driven by empathy, proactive encouragement and evidence-based methods, he ensures that each session is customised to meet his clients’ unique needs and challenges, propelling them closer to their personal or professional goals.

What happens in a coaching session
In a typical session with Dionysios, clients can expect an atmosphere that is relaxed yet highly focused, friendly yet result-oriented. Armed with a range of practical tools and frameworks, and employing a mix of active listening, probing questions and constructive feedback, Dionysios assists clients in effectively assessing their values, motivations and circumstances, before helping them identify their available choices, create a detailed plan of action, and put in place strategies to ensure they stay on track and reach their objectives.

Testimonials

“I work with Dionysios Kyropoulos as my ADHD study support coach at university, and the difference he has made to my academic life and my confidence has been huge. From our first session, I felt understood. He did not treat me like a student with generic learning differences. He understood how an ADHD brain works and adapted everything around me. I never felt judged, rushed, or dismissed. I felt safe, focused, and supported. He goes far beyond academic skills. He helps me manage overwhelm, anxiety, and motivation using practical strategies I use every day. He breaks tasks into clear steps, keeps me accountable, and helps me stay on track without pressure. When I struggle, he gives feedback in a calm, constructive way that never triggers shame or rejection sensitivity. This has been life-changing for me. Academically, my organisation, clarity, and belief in myself have improved. Personally, I feel more regulated and capable. He understands both the cognitive and emotional sides of ADHD, which is rare and incredibly valuable. If you are a student with ADHD and want support from someone who genuinely understands your brain and knows how to work with it, I cannot recommend him highly enough”
– Dean, Undergraduate Student

“My academic coaching sessions with Dionysios have been packed with new learning and skills. Dionysios is always flexible in meeting my needs, going to great depths to understand me and the learning methods that work best for me”

– Tiannon, Undergraduate Student

“Dionysios is a very nice and kind person, making me feel comfortable to share my problems and the impact of ADHD on my life. He helped me improve different aspects of my daily life, such as sleeping, studying and setting goals, based on my needs and feedback. Most important to me is the feeling of safety and support. He is always friendly and supportive in the sessions, non-judgmental and with great understanding”

– Kat, PhD Student

“Dionysios was a wonderful listener. He understood the unique challenges involved in managing ADHD, from the way appointments were scheduled and reminded, to the actual conversations themselves. Every conversation was insightful. I would often discover some habits or patterns of behaviour that get in the way of my goals or of just keeping it all together. The conversations were always smooth and relaxed yet still tended towards important aspects of ADHD and goals. Highly recommended coach”

– BJ, Academic

“I really enjoyed working with Dionysios. He is professional, meticulous, and incredibly empathetic—a quality that can be challenging to master if it's not innate. Dionysios has a remarkable ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms. My conversations with him have been a journey of self-reflection, growth, and learning. I wholeheartedly recommend Dionysios to anyone in need of support. We can all become stronger; sometimes, we just need a little help”
– Luna, Lecturer

“Dionysios helped me break down my big life decisions into actionable steps. Without his support and guidance I would probably still be stumbling blind in pursuit of my goals. In just over month I was able to set myself course, and in three more months, I was able to reach my goals”
– Julian, Materials Science Researcher and Data Analytics Instructor
